OSC Edge
The VP of Finance is a direct report to the President and will be responsible for coordination and management of a wide variety of functions across the organization and works with the Senior Management and Directors to ensure the business is conducted efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management
- Assesses and manages companywide financial risks, ensuring appropriate risk mitigation strategies are in place
- Ensures compliance with corporate financial policies and reporting standards in conjunction with OSC Global (CFO)
- Responsible for reviewing financials as well as semi-monthly FRPs
- Works closely with the VP of Operations and Director of Enterprise Program Management (EPMO) to ensure contract compliance and assists in mediating/resolving customer concerns or issues
- Works with the Accounting team and/or OSC Global Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to collect, analyze, and validate financial data
- Oversight of and works daily with the outsourced Accounting team
- Develops project plans for internal initiatives and reporting status and costs
- Collaborates with the President in the design and creation of the future financial state and organizational structure
- Formalizes vendors list, evaluates cost/benefit as needed, and identify alternative vendors for services where there is risk or dissatisfaction
- Collaborates with the Business Development team to provide financial insights that inform capture strategies, proposals, and pricing models
- Oversees preparation of financial and operational reports for executive leadership, OSC Global, and Board of Directors as needed
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices, including but not limited to federal acquisition regulations (FAR).
- Monitors financial performance against forecasts and business development goals
- Supports budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Collaborates with Accounting Team, OSC Global CFO, Department heads, Program Management on budget creation
- Works closely with Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Human Resources on incentive plan structure and salary rates to stay within budget
- Attends and participates in meetings as required
- Performs other tasks as required by OSC
Required Qualifications/Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Business Administration
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a corporate or Federal Contractor Finance position and/or administrative and senior management capacity
- Proficiency of federal government contracts, administration, and finance matters
- Thorough understanding of budgetary and accounting principles, practices, and policies
- Ability to help and remove impediments to achieving company objectives
- Ability to make sound judgments and decisions in the best interest of the company
- Ability to be resourceful and problem solve quickly and work under pressure
- The ability to work efficiently and effectively, while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to work with discretion and highly confidential information
- Ability to work independently and in a proactive manner
- Ability to multi-task and assist with schedule prioritization and management
- Ability to create and manage business and program budgets
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Approachable demeanor and professional posture
- Capability to multitask and handle multiple projects / tasks with competing deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, resourceful individual with effective time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficient in Excel as well as budget creation and analysis software
- Ability to travel (local and overnight)
Work Environment:
- Business office or home office work environment
- On occasion, may travel to a work site or governmental installation or military base
Expected Hours of Work:
- 8:00 to 5:00 (40 hours per week)
- Position regularly requires and it is expected to work extended hours, based on business (nights and weekends).
- May work on Holidays, as needed.
