Would you like to join an innovative team creating technology to power ground-breaking insights in academic, clinical, pharma and biotech research?The Technology Research team is seeking a Research Associate II to assist in the discovery and characterization of SOMAmer® reagents. This role is part of a dynamic, collaborative research team. The individual’s responsibilities will include generating new SOMAmer ® reagents using the SELEX process, characterizing the binding properties of reagents using protein affinity and pulldown assays, and contributing to development and improvement of existing characterization assays. Detailed documentation, organization and critical evaluation of results are essential traits for this position.
Key Job Responsibilities:
• Assist with discovery of new SOMAmer reagents via the SELEX process
• Screen SOMAmer reagents using the SomaScan assay with microarray quantification
• Perform pulldown and binding assays to investigate SOMAmer reagent characteristics
• Analyze large numbers of samples in parallel
• Document data, perform experiments and communicate results in a timely manner
• Assist in the management of protein and SOMAmer reagent inventories
• Work collaboratively with team members to design experiments and discuss results
Qualifications:
Education BS or MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related field from an accredited institution; BS with 3-4 years of work experience in an academic or industrial laboratory research setting
Skills and Experience:
• Experience with a variety of molecular biology and biochemistry techniques including PCR, gel electrophoresis, immunoprecipitation, and protein binding assays
• Experience analyzing DNA-protein interactions, preferred
• Experience with ELISAs preferred
• Experience with automated liquid handling is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with strict deadlines • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Work Environment:
Work is in typical office and laboratory environments with personal protective equipment use required in the laboratory.
Compensation Expectation:
$67,000 - $82,000 / Annual
