POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Training Specialist. This position is responsible for directly assisting the Human Resources Business Partner along with providing support to the training and lean processes within the company. The Training Specialist will managing and supporting plant training needs as well as implementation of lean responsibilities within the shop and help assist with Human Resources In all actions supports Sonaca North America's Quality Policy, Mission Statement and other Sonaca North America policies and procedures by supporting our commitment to total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teaming, individual accountability and respect for people.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with Plant leadership and HR to identify training needs for plant workforce, with emphasis on baseline skills, customer/program requirements.

  • Conducts or assists with new employee orientation and training.

  • Help develop training for company policies, safety, Lean, technical skills, etc.

  • Ensure that company and employee certifications are maintained.

  • Conduct training by means of presentation, computer-based training, hands on demonstration and practice; test knowledge and skills utilizing written and practical exams.

  • Responsible for training records administration and retention both electronic and hard copy

  • Recommend solutions for performance issues and areas in need of retraining.

  • Coordinate the team to achieve greater efficiency and productivity to meet the company's operational and financial goals using Lean principles and techniques.

  • Discover, create, analyze, measure, improve and optimize our business processes.

  • Produce processes that can be structured and repeatable for multiple work centers.

  • Participate in work center meetings to understand business and employee needs and objectives.

  • Organize workshops to assist project team with generating, analyzing, and documenting business requirements. Identify potential process gaps and/or opportunities to improve processes.

  • Create process flow diagrams, use cases, and other documentation to articulate system functionality.

  • Ensure process maps are easily understandable and accessible to relevant teams.

  • Establish detailed deliverable schedule, facilitate communication, and attend regularly scheduled team meetings to provide progress updates and reporting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred. Candidates that do not have a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be required to take a pre-employment assessment to be considered for the role.

  • Minimum 1 – 2 years’ related experience and/or training. Previous experience in a training role is an asset.

  • Previous Aerospace experience required, including knowledge of technical skills to be trained.

  • Knowledge of AS/9100 and ISO9100 standards preferred.

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable presenting information to different audiences.

  • Must be able to engage in a positive manner with individuals at varying levels across the organization.

  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite.

  • Flexibility to work overtime and holidays as needed.

  • Must have the ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.

  • Self-starter that can work independently along with working in a team environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position will require an employee to perform the following functions effectively, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Sitting/standing for extended periods, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and working on a computer for long periods of time.

  • Occasionally walk through the shop environment.

  • Occasional requirements may include lifting and carrying a maximum of 20 lbs.

Pay Range - $25.00-30.00
