Job Summary
Working with the main department Business Officer, the Assistant Business Officer collaborates with the Chair to plan, forecast, and assure adjustments are made to the budget in order to facilitate long-term planning. Responsibilities include assisting with managing and reconciling start-up funds, gift accounts and various cost centers; assisting in preparing and sending monthly Primary Investigator (PI) grant summary reports; assisting PIs with budget needs regarding forecast and analysis of grants; managing subcontracts and personal service contracts; reviewing and preparing grant close-out procedures for ending grants; and interpreting and enforcing university policies and procedures, rules and regulations, as consistent with current practices.
