Essential Functions and Duties


· Coordinates all activities and all testers during each testing phase of a project or program

· Co-operates with clients/users and senior staff as required to agree the testing strategy to be employed for development projects.

· Maintains awareness of testing alternatives at a level where they can be analyzed and the most effective testing strategy selected and agreed

· Utilizes testing knowledge and experience to assess and advice on the practicality of testing process alternatives.

· Identifies improvements to the process and assists in their implementation.

· Ensures that any risks associated with the agreed test strategy and the system test plan are clearly documented and described to the clients/users and colleagues.

· Provides authoritative advice and guidance to colleagues on any aspect of testing, including training for testers and other developers where appropriate.

· Plans, arranges and controls meetings, workshops and relations with client/user staff during test planning and throughout subsequent development and testing activities.

· Plans or oversees the planning of the system and acceptance tests and coordinates the execution of these plans.

· Takes responsibility for early life-cycle validation and verification.

· Takes responsibility for the production and approval of all testing deliverables and achievement of testing milestones during a project.

· Familiar with industry standards and certification such as ISO9000, and drive efforts to ensure products conform to these standards

· Evaluate, maintain and improve Testing roles and responsibilities within product development lifecycle

· Take responsibility for functional duties as assigned by direct manager

· Responsible for all Test, Test Tools Development and configuration management activities

· Assess and implement training and career development needs for the team

· Conduct performance reviews

· Manages team compliance with existing measures for reporting testing efforts

· Knowledgeable in a variety of electrical test instrument used in the testing of RF amplifiers.

· Capable of setting and adjusting each electrical test instrument and measuring the magnitude and accuracy of the parameters called out by the specification.

· Must be capable of making complex test set-ups including inputs, outputs and metering requirements.

· Set-up test circuits to measure the electrical parameters of products.

· Write test specifications and procedure as required. Specifications are normally called out in ATP’s, but may have to be modified to utilize equipment available and process standardization.

· Develop test plan to ensure that customer (out-of box experience) inputs are cover.

· Perform trouble shooting, analyzes and repairs of failed units or returns from customers.

· Set-up and direct other test personnel on in-process or final testing.

· Be involved in the test and evaluation of prototype and pre-production with Engineering concurrence.

· Must be capable of evaluating electrical requirements and recommending fixtures and test methods.

· Use basic statistical tools, pareto charts, histograms, cause and effect diagrams, to evaluate electrical data for test variability and aid in problem solving.
