Position Summary:  
HunaTek requires a Washington, DC based full-time International Nuclear Security Action Officer to support the management and implementation of international nuclear security projects in support of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Office of Global Material Security, Office of International Nuclear Security (INS). 
INS advances U.S. international efforts to prevent theft and sabotage of nuclear materials and facilities worldwide by partnering with countries and international organizations to secure weapons-usable nuclear materials, nuclear power plants and fuel cycle facilities, research reactors, and materials in transit. INS engages with more than 50 partner nations around the world through assessments, technical exchanges, trainings, facility upgrades, regulatory development, and other assistance to strengthen the most critical components of their nuclear security architecture. INS also helps partners adapt and implement security solutions to address emerging technologies such as unmanned aerial systems (UAS), advanced nuclear reactors, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and 5G communication networks. 
 
The International Nuclear Security Action Officer is expected to convey a high degree of professionalism, operate proactively, and exhibit diplomacy and tact in all interactions. The role requires maintaining strict confidentiality and the ability to operate seamlessly in both classified and unclassified environments. 
 
Essential Job Functions:  
The Action Officer is expected to report to the customer site near the Smithsonian Metro Stop in Washington, DC five (5) days a week to interface with the INS federal staff to support program activities.  Specific responsibilities include:
  • Utilize advanced computer and information management skills to:

    • Manage executive schedules

    • Compile, maintain, and distribute classified and unclassified meeting materials.

    • Prepare and deliver briefings, reports, and status updates.

    • Track programmatic actions and deliverables using internal tracking systems.

  • Maintain attention to detail in a multi-project environment with frequent interruptions and competing priorities; ensure proper task prioritization.

  • Arrange and support secure and non-secure conferences and meetings (teleconferences, video teleconferences, in-person meetings).

  • Administer and enforce security procedures for access to controlled areas.

  • Oversee the secure management of classified and unclassified documents and materials.

  • Support the development and execution of Federal briefings, including preparing and uploading presentation materials and coordinating meeting logistics.

  • Record and develop technical meeting minutes, demonstrating the ability to comprehend and summarize complex technical topics effectively.

  • Coordinate with Federal and contractor staff to monitor and manage taskers, actions, and deliverables.

  • Draft and edit leadership-level correspondence and documentation, including briefing materials, memos, talking points, and formal reports.
