Description
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients, verify information, and prepare them for examination.
Obtain and document patient history, including medical, ocular, and medication information.
Measure visual acuity, pupillary responses, intraocular pressure, and perform refraction when required.
Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, fundus photography, keratometry, and topography.
Administer eye drops and topical medications as directed by the physician.
Maintain exam rooms, instruments, and equipment, ensuring proper sterilization and calibration.
Educate patients on treatment plans, post-procedure care, and use of medications.
Document all findings, procedures, and patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record.
Manage patient flow to ensure timely and efficient clinic operations.
Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, billing support, and supply inventory as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in ophthalmology or optometry preferred.
Proficiency in ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and organizational skills.
Education:
Current certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Assistant (COMT/COA).
