Responsibilities

As a Senior Survey Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting both office and field staff by processing incoming data and producing final land surveying deliverables. Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll utilize the latest technology in the A/E/C industry to complete technical tasks that improve efficiency and enhance client satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure project requirements are met in both the office and the field

  • Process field data and complete initial CAD work for land survey deliverables

  • Assist with quality control reviews of client-specific deliverables

  • Monitor field crew productivity and support quality assurance efforts

  • Train field and office staff on best practices and company standards

  • Provide field support for survey staff as needed

  • Perform initial QC reviews of field deliverables to confirm accuracy and compliance

  • Conduct on-site QC checks to verify quality of work

  • Process and evaluate data daily, ensuring accuracy, sufficiency, and compliance with regulations and industry standards (e.g., boundary calculations, legal descriptions)

  • Conduct deed research, plotting, and map checks

  • Prepare plats, drawings, legal descriptions, and alignment drawings

  • Provide technical office support, including field crew briefings and debriefings

  • Perform quality control checks on survey plats and drawings prepared by others

  • Ensure schedules and productivity targets for survey deliverables are achieved



Qualifications



  • Strong computer and technical skills; Auto CAD, MicroStation, Revit or similar application
  • Proficiency in technical math; Geometry and Trigonometry are a plus
