JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Title

HVAC Production Manager

Reports to


HVAC General Manager

Summary/Objective

Ensures implementation of agreed upon Manufacturing guidelines and processes and plans and manages all operations in production area, within a plant or site. This may include area-related maintenance and engineering services.

Essential Functions

  1. Provide leadership to develop strong, trusting working relationships and to foster a non-biased, equitable, and respectful environment.
  2. Achieve the production plan to support the monthly/annual sales budget.
  3. Drive improvement in production efficiency and cost management / reduction to positively impact KPI's. KPI’s include:
    • Production labor efficiency
    • First time pass rate
    • On-time delivery
    1. Actively participates in site leadership meetings. Presentations may be required to communicate production performance/quality/safety.
    2. Focus on achieving company objectives for cost control, waste reduction, accuracy with inventories for production and MRO items, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery. Ensuring training is adequate for SAP for accurate, timely entries.
    3. Executes, follows through, and reports back to the leadership team on all actions developed from management meetings pertaining to production.
    4. Facilitates training of employees on safety, new processes/equipment, and ensures standards are established and made.
    5. Schedules factory to ensure optimum levels of productivity, inventories in finished goods, WIP, and raw materials are maintained.
    6. Works closely with Accounting, Engineering, Facilities, Buyer/Planner, HR, Customer Service, Sales, Quality and the General Manager to accomplish established tasks and goals.
    7. Develops supervisors to continuously upgrade skills and knowledge to support Company goals and to facilitate succession planning objectives.
    8. Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
    9. Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
    10. Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
    11. Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

    Skills and Competencies

    1. Proficient with site operating and support software.
    2. Understands and maintains knowledge level on Quality systems (AAR M-1003 / ISO 9001; 2008 / REX) for on-going daily operations.
    3. Ensures communication is open, honest, process oriented and focused on processes in a fair and nondiscriminatory manner to all individuals
    4. Provides leadership through regular communications, coaching, training, and development of all direct and indirect reports.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has 3-5 direct personnel and >10 indirect personnel.

    Work Environment

    The employee will be required to perform duties on a computer terminal. The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc.

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of an office work and manufacturing environment position.

    Required Education and Experience

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Process, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, preferred.
    2. 3-5 years of Relevant Manufacturing Experience, required
    3. SAP experience, required
    4. Lean Manufacturing experience, 5S, required

    -The base pay range for this role is 105,400 USD – 158,200 USD. The company reasonably expects to pay within that range, however, Knorr-Brake Company considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
