The Inspector located in Wolcott, IN reports to our Plant Manager and is responsible for inspecting, setting and adjusting any Mercoid pressure and temperature controls and instruments and/or incoming parts and materials at quality control workstations using vacuum, pressure, temperature and electrical gauges and controls for the different types of instruments and micrometers, verniers and fixed and variable gauges for parts checking.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receive information as to 100% or sampling checks and types and models and/or incoming assignment from Leader; use print or specification book as reference for work assigned.
Connect instrument or control and check for operating parameters. Adjust settings and balance control mechanism; make minor parts adjustments or replacements or return to the prior work area for more extensive rework. Notify the Leader of any recurring problems.
Use electrical instruments and meters and other gauges and test devices in the performance of work on relay and filling or other type units, as may be assigned.
Inspect incoming parts and materials, 100% or sample per established procedure.
Aside completed units to cart and may move from inspection to finished goods, shipping or other area. Segregate units that cannot be brought into the operating range or defective parts for the Leader.
Record information for specific reports and/or defective material for work assigned and completed.
Clean up the immediate work area and follow prescribed procedures in handling of all units and components to eliminate possible damage.
Requires print or spec reading with from twelve to eighteen months to attain proficiency on variety assignments. Move from station to station for work assigned.
Some dexterity is necessary as to set and make repairs to units.
