Locatedin Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college,offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses inWellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

PositionSummary:

Theideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community and have a desire andability to serve a population of students with various needs andbackgrounds. This is a part-time,non-unit position with no benefits.

Operating within the Career Services team,the Manager of Mentoring directs the implementation and growth of MassBay’ snewly unified and centralized Mentor Program. This program supports studentsacross all majors by building meaningful mentor relationships, fosteringpersonal growth, enhancing career readiness, and strengthening institutionaland community engagement. This positionmanages all aspects of the Mentor Program, including strategic planning,outreach, mentor-mentee matching, workshop series, event planning,communication platforms, and partnership development aligned with MassBay’ sstrategic goals of equity, student success, and sustainability. The Managerwill also supervise mentoring support staff and part-time student interns,ensuring alignment, accountability, and program effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Program Leadership, Management, and Supervision

  • Hire, train, and supervise mentoring support staff and student interns, including recruitment, scheduling, and performance management;

  • Provide overall direction for the centralized Mentor Program, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and student needs;

  • Lead the mentor/mentee matching process by aligning student interests, goals, and identities with professional mentors across diverse fields;

  • Oversee all program phases, from onboarding and training workshops through student preparation, reflection, and action planning;

  • Develop and sustain a vibrant mentor community that encourages shared learning, peer networking, and long-term engagement;

  • Student Development and WorkshopFacilitation;

  • Design and implement a semester-based Personal and Professional Development Workshop Series;

  • Deliver and/or oversee structured content on self-discovery, identity, values, confident communication, career planning, and professional skill-building;

  • Ensure mentees understand expectations, track progress, and receive individualized support throughout their participation;

EventPlanning and Partnership Cultivation

  • Organize mentor and mentee engagement events, including kickoff sessions, networking mixers, mock interviews, and career panels;

  • Partner with Career Services staff, student clubs, faculty, and community leaders to integrate mentoring across campus;

  • Cultivate employer and alumni partnerships to expand mentor recruitment and student access to professional opportunities.


Assessment,Reporting, and Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor program participation, workshop attendance, and engagement using both qualitative and quantitative data;

  • Collect and analyze pre- and post-program assessments to evaluate student growth in confidence, career readiness, and self-efficacy;

  • Produce mid-year and annual reports summarizing student outcomes, mentor feedback, and recommendations for improvement;

  • Track retention and graduation trends among mentees, with a focus on historically underrepresented student groups;

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

RequiredQualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university from an accredited university, preferably in Education, Counseling or related disciplines;

  • Two (2) years of experience working in higher education, program management, or student advising;

  • Must have a flexible schedule and be willing and able to adjust weekly hours depending on program needs;

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;

  • Excellent oral, written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working in a community college or similar environment;

  • Demonstrates commitment to working with students in need;

  • Experience working with students or community members in an educational, mentoring, or career development setting;

  • Strong communication and organizational skills;

  • Ability to build relationships with students, alumni, employers, faculty, and staff;

  • Comfort using digital tools to manage communications and engagement.

AdditionalInformation:

Salary Range: $37.00 per hour; 18 hours per week for 40weeks during the academic year
