Manager, Communications and Programming



Job Summary

Executes University communications and marketing strategies for a program or unit. Oversees print and electronic communications, subsequent media promotion, and development of a content marketing plan. Tracks and evaluates marketing strategies. Guides staff. Ensures consistent messaging and maintains University brand and style.


Essential Functions

The Division of Gi & Division of Geriatrics are seeking a Director of Communications and Programming (DCP). This role involves
developing and implementing educational courses, conferences, and programs at local, regional, and national levels, targeting scientists, research teams, physicians, fellows, patients, and families. Key responsibilities include building strong relationships and partnerships with industry and non-profits, managing the division's website, social media, newsletter, and calendar, planning and executing events at national conferences and within the division. The DCP collaborates with the division chief on faculty appointments and promotions, requiring strong writing skills, and works with clinical marketing and practice managers to promote physician and APP practices. Additionally, the DCP partners with the division administrator and division chief on department and university initiatives.
Partnering with the Center for Continuing Education in the Health Sciences for conference credit
Developing conferences and programs to include obtaining sponsorship, contracting, content development, on site facilitation
Collaborating with the Medical & Health Sciences Foundation on stewardship and fundraising
Managing the division's website, social media, newsletter, and conference calendar.
Planning and executing events at national conferences
Collaborating with the division chief on faculty appointments, reappointments and promotions, requiring strong writing skills.
Working with clinical marketing and practice managers to promote physician and APP practices.
Partnering with the division administrator and division chief on department and university reports and initiatives.
