Assistant Director of Financial Aid Systems
Job Summary
Works with business groups to solve more complex problems using technology. Analyzes advanced business needs and evaluates complex business processes to recommend process enhancements. Assists in helping junior and more senior business analysts with complex projects.
Essential Functions
- Supervise members of the financial aid systems team and ensure effective collaboration with other functional units.
- Work in collaboration with functional Financial Aid Staff to identify business needs, establish compliance and awarding requirements, and define implementation timelines.
- Maintains and configures the student information system (SIS) to support financial aid packaging across all campuses.
- Ensure financial aid related systems comply with regulatory requirements, consistently apply policies and procedures and provide quality data.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of aid for prospective and current students.
- Troubleshoots system issues, implements updates, and tests configurations for federal and institutional compliance.
- Supports automation, reporting, and data integrity for aid processing and disbursement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of electronic initiatives, streamlining processes, enhancing program integrity, minimizing risk, and providing significant added value to customer service.
Physical Effort
Most work is sedentary, completed within an office setting. Some counseling/presenting is performed at other campuses and off-campus sites. Employee must be able to move about the campus to meetings and travel to locations outside of the University of Pittsburgh.
