Purpose of Role
In DHL Supply Chain, we are driving strategic initiatives (LLP, M&A, joint ventures) to achieve our '2X30' strategy by 2030. In this role, you will lead the acquisition and execution of projects, ensuring a smooth transition to the operations department.
Build and maintain connections with banks, securities firms, consulting companies, etc., while identifying target companies that align with DHL's strategy through introductions of projects from these connections.?
Plan and execute opportunities such as warehouse tours to help target customers better understand the business and actual operations.
Collaborate with internal operations personnel to ensure appropriate support.
Maintain strong relationships with partners (banks, investment banks, consulting firms) when projects are introduced by them, and continue strategic communication aimed at project acquisition.
Participate in bids against competitors. If necessary, form partnerships with transportation companies to strengthen proposals.
Proposal Activities:
During the bidding process, effectively showcase our strengths (capabilities and track record in LLP and M&A) in line with the usual flow of two rounds.
Document effective proposals related to supply chain optimization and deliver compelling presentations to target customers.
Make proposals with a view to global expansion, emphasizing the financial strength and international network of DHL Group.
Execution Phase:
Lead contract negotiations and finalize contracts based on agreed terms.
Prepare approval documents and coordinate with internal stakeholders (as needed, at the Country, Region, and Global levels).
Lead transition projects, coordinating until stable operations after the go-;ive, ensuring a smooth handover to the operations department.
Stakeholder Management:
Build strong relationships with customers, partners (banks, investment banks, consulting firms), and internal stakeholders (Country Manager, Senior Management Team of various departments, regional representatives, global representatives) and provide regular updates on project progress.
Maintain flexible judgment in environments with many uncertainties and adjust approaches as necessary.
Requirements
Ability to have a clear vision and demonstrate strong leadership towards achieving objectives.
Patient attitude towards long-term projects (especially M&A projects, which typically require a duration of 4-5 years).
Excellent business etiquette and the ability to build trust with clients (particularly in establishing relationships with Japanese companies).
Advanced presentation skills and the ability to propose supply chain optimization (proposals should be supported by specific numbers and data).
Communication skills that include flexibility, negotiation skills, and the ability to coordinate.
Broad interest in the market and the ability to identify potential opportunities.
Ability to build good relationships with diverse internal stakeholders and involve the right personnel according to the project.
Holistic perspective and project management skills, as the role involves executing projects that span customers, internal teams, and regions.
