Learning Advisor - UK People and Culture

Location: This role can be based from the following Leidos offices: Whiteley Hampshire, Glasgow, Bristol, Farnborough Hampshire; with flexibility to work from home dependent on business demands

Join us as a Learning Advisor, where you'll play a key role in supporting over 1,350 employees and managers across Leidos UK, working with our People and Culture team and the wider business to shape an inclusive, learning culture.

In this role, you'll manage a variety of learning and development efforts, from training and coaching to running development events and supporting career progression. You’ll also get the chance to collaborate with our Tech-X Academy and US Learning and Development Team, designing creative in-house learning programmes using tools such as Articulate 360.

What will I be doing?

  • Training Requests & Mailbox Management:
    • Respond to training requests in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the booking process.
    • Oversee the dedicated training mailbox (email inbox), coordinating training sessions and resolving queries from employees and stakeholders.
    • Keep accurate training records and schedules, making sure attendees and trainers have all the information they need at every stage.
  • Training Delivery Support:
    • Assist in planning and facilitating both virtual and in-person training sessions, including workshops for soft skills development, performance development, and professional growth and development.
    • Provide support to attendees, making sure training programmes run smoothly.
    • Track and evaluate training session feedback to find areas for improvement.

  • eLearning Development & Learning Management System (LMS) Administration:
    • Contribute to the design, development and upkeep of eLearning materials to tackle any identified skill gaps.
    • Support the administration of the Learning Management System (LMS), making sure content is up-to-date and easy to access.
    • Explore usage data and feedback to improve digital learning resources.

  • Onboarding Programme Support:
    • Help coordinate and deliver onboarding programmes for new employees.
    • Make sure new employees have access to relevant learning materials and training sessions.
    • Work with key stakeholders to improve the onboarding experience and help new employees get involved right from the start.

  • Promoting a Learning Culture:
    • Support work that encourages continuous learning and professional development across the organisation.
    • Work closely with managers and employees to develop a culture where learning is valued and embedded in their daily work.
    • Look for new and creative ways to get people interested and engaged in learning.

  • Coaching & Development Support:
    • Complete one-to-one coaching sessions with employees to support their professional growth and career development.
    • Provide guidance on learning pathways and opportunities to grow, making sure these fit with employee goals and the needs of the company.
  • Career Development & Continuous Improvement:
    • Develop and build on our Career Discussion Guides and frameworks, to make sure they stay relevant and effective.
    • Gather feedback from employees and stakeholders to improve career development tools and resources.
    • Stay up-to-date with best practices in learning and development, to help us continuously improve.

What does Leidos need from me?

  • Previous experience in a Learning & Development, Training Coordinator, HR Administrator or similar role
  • Familiar with Learning Management Systems (such as Workday) and eLearning development tools (such as Articulate 360
  • Able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Organised and able to switch between different tasks and priorities efficiently
  • Experience supporting both virtual and in-person training sessions
  • Experience of building good working relationships and championing learning

It would be desirable if you had:

  • A passion for professional development and continuous learning
  • CIPD Level 3-5 in Organisational Learning & Development
