The Transporation Supervisor supports and oversees day-to-day distribution and logistics activities to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of food and supplies. This role is responsible for coordinating food distribution operations, monitoring inventory and production flow, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, and supervising staff to maintain efficiency and service quality. The Unit Supervisor also plays a key role in customer relations, facility and fleet upkeep, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate daily distribution operations, including food preparation, reheating, packing, and delivery.
Supervise, coach, and develop distribution staff; oversee scheduling, attendance, performance management, and training.
Partner with HR on recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and timecard/HRIS management.
Manage warehouse and inventory control processes, ensuring accurate records and timely reporting.
Support preparation of monthly inventory counts and operational reports.
Contribute to route planning and optimization to maximize efficiency and service coverage.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, HACCP, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee safe and compliant use of vehicles and equipment; ensure DOT compliance and documentation.
Ensure productivity goals, labor standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.
Represent the organization at customer meetings and in-service sessions.
Assist with purchasing, receiving, and quality assurance of food and supply orders.
Support facility, fleet, and grounds maintenance as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Scheduled Start Time: 3:30AM - 4:00AM
Qualifications
Demonstrated supervisory or team lead experience (minimum 1 year) in food service, logistics, or distribution; large-scale or institutional operations preferred.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to coach staff, resolve conflicts, and partner effectively with internal teams and customers.
Proven ability in problem-solving and applying creative, out-of-the-box thinking to operational challenges.
Knowledge of fleet operations (DOT standards, driver management, equipment compliance) and kitchen practices (food prep workflows, sanitation standards).
Current ServSafe certification required; additional HACCP or GMP training strongly preferred.
Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems, and GPS routing tools; comfort with HRIS/timekeeping systems.
Valid Florida Class E Driver License with a clean record; ability to maintain DOT medical certification.
Strong teamwork orientation with proven leadership, organizational, and motivational skills.
Physical ability to meet role requirements, including lifting up to 50 lbs and performing warehouse/kitchen tasks as needed.

Physical Work Enviornment
This role involves a mix of warehouse, kitchen, office, and driving responsibilities.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods while overseeing production, distribution, and loading activities.
Regularly required to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, often in fast-paced conditions.
Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, climbing, and stooping are necessary during food handling, equipment checks, and vehicle loading.
Will be responsible for driving delivery routes as needed; requires sitting for prolonged periods, operating a vehicle safely, and complying with DOT standards.
Daily use of computers and office equipment to enter data, prepare reports, send emails, and manage schedules.
Work takes place in a variety of environments, including temperature-controlled kitchens, warehouse spaces, delivery vehicles, and standard office settings.
Exposure to varying temperatures (cold storage, loading docks, outdoor conditions) is expected.
Position requires the ability to balance hands-on physical tasks with administrative and supervisory duties.
