The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences is seeking a qualified Clinical Placement Specialist to support Clinical Partnerships in the Office of the Dean. This position will work to support clinical education throughout the School.

The Clinical Placement Specialist is responsible for coordinating, managing, and supporting clinical placements for students in health-related academic programs. This role ensures students are placed in clinical sites that meet educational and accreditation standards while fostering strong partnerships with external organizations. The role requires strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills to support students, faculty, and clinical partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, education, administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical coordination, academic program administration, or healthcare operations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, and scheduling software (e.g., EXXAT, or similar platforms).

Job Summary

Initiates, develops and manages the clinical placement process by overseeing the clinical affiliation agreement and student placement. Manages the web-based platform for clinical education information coordination. Ensures site specific clinical requirement compliance including immunizations, background checks, certifications, licenses, health forms, and drug screenings. Provides relevant program and reportable information.


Essential Functions

Clinical Site Coordination

Identify, establish, and maintain clinical placement sites that align with programmatic goals and accreditation requirements.

Schedule and confirm clinical rotations for students across various healthcare settings.

Initiate and track affiliation agreements and ensure all documentation is up-to-date and compliant.

Maintain effective relationships with clinical site partners, preceptors, and coordinators.

Data Management and Documentation

Maintain clinical placement databases and systems to ensure accurate tracking of placements, preceptors, and evaluations.

Compile and report data related to clinical hours, site usage, and placement metrics.

Prepare documentation required for program accreditation, audits, or annual reporting.

Compliance and Accreditation Support

Ensure all clinical placements meet academic and accrediting body standards.

Assist in developing and updating policies and procedures related to clinical education.

Monitor and maintain compliance with institutional, local, and national clinical placement guidelines.

Communication and Collaboration

Collaborate with faculty and program leadership to align placements with course objectives and timelines.

Provide orientation materials to students and clinical sites as needed.

Communicate regularly with clinical partners to evaluate site experiences and gather feedback for continuous improvement.


Physical Effort

Minimal physical effort is required. Periods of standing, packaging of materials, lab set-up etc. Potential long periods of sitting.
