Mantis Innovation provides managed facility services and turnkey program management with technology-enabled solutions that target the entire building footprint. We look at the entire facility—inside and out—and can impact 70% of what a building operator allocates critical budget dollars toward, including: Strategic electricity and natural gas procurement, renewable energy, and demand response; climate impact reduction and reporting, net zero strategies, and sustainability planning; roofing, solar, HVAC assessment management, pavement, building envelope, data center optimization, and EV charging; lighting/LED retrofits, HVAC/mechanical systems, and BMS/BAS improvements and implementation.

We’re hiring a senior-level Controls Technician to independently deliver mission-critical BMS service projects across Central and Northern New Jersey. This role is client-facing and highly technical, leading troubleshooting, programming, commissioning, and integration tasks in live data center environments.

What You’ll Do

    • Lead independent commissioning and troubleshooting of BMS/SCADA/PLC systems.
    • Program and integrate HVAC control sequences in mission-critical facilities.
    • Manage field execution on live client sites with minimal oversight.
    • Serve as a technical lead and mentor for junior technicians.
    • Travel daily across NJ to client sites.

What We’re Looking For

    • 8–12+ years of hands-on BMS, SCADA, PLC, or HVAC controls experience.
    • Significant experience with Wonderware/Aveva platforms
    • Ability to troubleshoot and deliver under live data center uptime requirements.
    • Strong HVAC systems grounding (control sequences, integration strategies).
    • Excellent communication skills in client environments.
    • Willingness to travel (95% in NJ).

Wonderware/Aveva Platform Experience Required

    • Aveva System Platform (Wonderware SCADA)
    • Aveva Historian (Wonderware Historian)
    • Aveva Development Studio (Wonderware Development Studio)

Nice to Have

    • Allen Bradley PLC familiarity.
    • Mission-critical facility background (data centers, hospitals).
    • Degree in electronics, automation, or HVAC.
    • Mentorship or team coordination experience.

$115,000 - $130,000 a year
Base salary: $115K–$130K, depending on experience.
Profit-sharing program
