Learfield is looking for a detail-oriented and analytically driven Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team and support the financial health and operational efficiency of our Customer Service division. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving problems, driving process improvements, and collaborating across departments to turn numbers into actionable insight.

In this role, you’ll analyze key financial and operational metrics, identify trends, and lead cross-functional initiatives to improve Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Quality Control processes. You’ll serve as a project lead and problem solver—driving forward key initiatives, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring smooth execution of business-critical tasks. The right candidate brings a proactive mindset, sharp analytical skills, and a passion for helping teams work smarter and more efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for analyzing key performance indicators, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement; sharing results with AR Manager for deeper insight into process improvement initiatives for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Quality Control. Facilitate necessary enhancements, training and implementation of the following:
    • Analyze QC rejection ratings
    • Analyze accounting allocations for accuracy and potential areas of concern
    • Analyze monthly, quarterly and annual invoicing trends and process handling
    • Perform risk management assessment and progress tracking
  • Project Management related to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Quality Control initiative.
    • Support and design execution of processes including requirement gathering, process documentation and solution design, ensuring all stakeholders involvement
    • Facilitate training and communication of new and changing processes
    • Maintain project timelines, manage project changes and priorities internally and with external departments and/or contractors
    • Facilitate recurring meetings with other departments, including but not limited to Information Technology, Data Strategy and Analytics, Revenue Strategy and Operations. Accessing progression and priority of projects.
  • Serve as facilitator for cross departmental sales, revenue, accounts receivable, and quality control committee. Manage agenda and ensure projects maintain momentum.
  • Assist with commissions reporting and discovery support for the Revenue Strategy and Operations team
  • Act as point of contact for annual audits
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate collections, billing, or financial operations (especially in high-volume environments).
  • Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills; able to present ideas clearly to cross-functional audiences including peers, executives, and external partners.
  • Collaborative leader with the ability to engage teams across departments and drive alignment on shared goals.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solver, with strong financial and analytical skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and comfort working with data, metrics, and performance targets.
  • Proven ability to manage high-pressure situations with professionalism and composure; adept at conflict resolution and navigating sensitive conversations.
  • Self-motivated and growth-oriented, with a demonstrated track record of stepping into leadership opportunities and driving process improvements.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change; brings an innovative mindset and a solutions-focused approach to evolving business needs.
  • Experienced working independently and exercising sound judgment across all levels of an organization.
  • Team player who proactively engages others to develop ideas, optimize workflows, and enhance the internal and external customer experience.
