Position Summary

The Café Cook and Attendant will be an integral member of the Visitor Center experience. The responsibility of this role is to combine basic food service with customer service. Tasks include food preparation, café set-up, order preparation and completion, ringing up sales, liaising with customers, and daily café clean-up and organization. The Café Cook and Attendant will be provided with on-the-job training and can demonstrate and develop their skills while surrounded by nature in the Visitor Center located in Naples, Florida.


This is a full-time, seasonal position, working up to 40 hours per week, from December 2025 through April 2026.


Compensation:


$19.00 / hour


Essential Functions
  • Greet customers and offer assistance with their order.

  • Process food orders and note special requests, so all items are made correctly.

  • Explain menu items to customers with enthusiasm and knowledge of our offerings.

  • Prepare requested menu items and deliver/serve food to customers in a timely manner.

  • Direct customers to utensils, condiments, restrooms, etc.

  • Maintain sanitary workspaces and abide by all Florida healthy, hygiene and food service regulations.

  • Clean and clear tables as needed and remove waste.

  • Prepare and clean-up the cafĂ© and kitchen area daily.

  • Check-in deliveries and restock appropriate areas.

  • Communicate any food, health and safety concerns to immediate supervisor.

  • Assist with special events.

  • Maintains and fosters culture of safety.

  • Other job-related duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications and Experience

    Required:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience working with food in a commercial kitchen.

  • Efficient at managing a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Friendly demeanor.

  • Attentive to detail and product quality.

  • Able to follow directions and work autonomously.

  • Able to work in an occasional fast-paced environment, while keeping a positive attitude.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to maneuver with up to 20 lbs. and with or without accommodations.

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to wear required health and safety equipment – e.g. food serving gloves.

  • Preferred:


  • Previous food service experience.

  • ServeSafe Certificate.

  • Experience using credit card processing machines.


  • Additional Requirements:


  • Must be available 5 days, 9am to 5pm (occasional evening events).
