GMC is seeking a motivated Roadway Design Project Manager for our Augusta, GA or Cartersville, GA office(s). This individual will be responsible for successfully managing client relationships in conjunction with training and mentoring a team of engineers, technicians and interns. Technical Competencies:
- Experience with plan, designing, and producing roadway related engineering drawings - to include concept alignments, preliminary and final construction plans and construction support
- Knowledge of regulatory agency requirements and processes - Federal, State (GA) and Local
- Working knowledge in highway design principles and concepts, GDOT design standards, GDOT plans preparation procedures
- Possesses oral, written, and communication skills including strong technical writing
- Performing project management duties that requires excellent task and time management skills
- Providing QA/QC support for GMC roadway projects
- Executes cross discipline checks and coordination
- Completes project documents with conformity and quality assurance

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering field
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Georgia is required
- 6 -10 years of experience in roadway engineering
- Knowledge of Georgia Department of Transportation guidelines, specifications, drawings and organizational structure
- Knowledge of roadway design guidelines such as the “Green Book”, MUTCD and other FHWA publications
- Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with MicroStation Design platforms particularly Open Roads - AutoCAD skills acceptable
- Having attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with others, both written and verbal
- Ability to prepare and maintain records, prepare reports, documents and correspondence related to the work
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Valid driver’s license as occasional travel is required, often driving to project sites located outdoors
