Context of Job:

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) is looking for a Post Doctoral Researcher for its Nanoelectronics and Microelectronics program.

Candidates with a strong background in materials, semiconductor physics, and devices, especially with relevant material growth experience in material growth using molecular beam epitaxy or metal organic chemical vapor deposition, semiconductor device fabrication will be given priority.

Candidate who is interested in one or more research areas will be considered:

(1) High-frequency electronic devices: heterojunction bipolar transistors, high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs);

(2) Low-power devices: novel transistors (tunneling field-effect transistors, and III-V metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors);

(3) Light-emitting devices and high-speed detectors: light-emitting diodes, laser diodes, photodetectors, etc.;

(4) Neuromorphic computing: neuron devices and circuits for computation.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for doing research on molecular beam epitaxy on Group IV materials and their device fabrications and characterizations for both optoelectronic and electronic applications.
  • Guiding graduate students and undergraduate students

Qualifications:

  • PhD required at the time of hire
  • Strong collaboration skills and hard-working spirits
  • Competent on paper writing
