Overview

Lutron Electronics has an immediate opening for a Process Support Technician for our LED Emitter line in our Austin, Texas manufacturing facility on our 1st shift. In this role, you will be a key part of the team that operates and maintains this line. You will work in a clean-room environment to help deliver a key component in the Lutron Electronics product portfolio, meeting the highest standards of quality.  The products and systems that we produce are destined for use in high-end residential and commercial environments.

In a typical day, you will ensure steady production on the Emitter Line by assisting the line as needed: Modifying die-attach and wire-bond machine programs, training line operators, finding root causes to quality issues and driving their resolutions. You may also support Manufacturing Engineering as they introduce new products. You will be the Emitter line’s first line of defense to its technical and equipment challenges. You will be expected to drive the quick and accurate resolution of issues that interfere with production flow, to document these resolutions and to escalate as appropriate. Communication with operators, engineers and Operations leadership will be key.



Responsibilities

  • Equipment and program setup and changeover
  • Troubleshooting of problems to find root cause and fix in a way that prevents future occurrences
  • Mentor & train operators on equipment and proper troubleshooting techniques
  • Operate the Emitter Line equipment when staffing requirements require it
  • Support New Product Introductions (NPIs) and communicate issues found to engineering resources
  • Create, modify and maintain program libraries for die attach, wire bond, reflow oven, and AOI equipment
  • Work with Facility Equipment Support to perform certain maintenance activities
  • Manage spare parts program for Emitter Line equipment and process
  • Work with production and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement, particularly to line uptime and utilization
  • Leverage engineering resources for training and continuous learning on the emitter line’s product, process, and equipment


Qualifications



  • Associates degree in electronics, mechatronics, electro-mechanical technologies, or similar field with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • 3+ years of experience supporting automated processes, maintenance or process development is preferred
  • Ability to work 1st shift (6:30am - 3pm)
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time and wear a cleanroom suit throughout the entirety of the work shift
  • Willingness and flexibility to learn and solve a wide variety of problems, leveraging help of experienced engineers and experts
  • Ability to understand, support, drive continuous improvement on technically complex machinery and processes
  • Read and understand equipment manuals, process manuals, and SOPs
  • Read and understand electrical schematics, drawings, and part specifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfortable with equipment specific computer applications
  • Knowledge of die attach and wire bonding processes a plus
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions in English
