Job Summary
The Department of Political Science in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY seeks to fill a tenure-eligible faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with expertise in the field of Comparative Political Institutions, with a preference for a scholar whose research and teaching focus on Emerging Democratic Institutions. This is a 9-month position in the regular title series with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026. The first year Distribution of Effort will be 45% Teaching, 45% Research, and 10% Departmental service. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise or clear potential to produce high-quality research, attract extramural funding, employ rigorous quantitative and methodological approaches, and provide effective teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

A PhD in Political Science is required. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Political Science by August 1st, 2026.
