Responsibilities

This position reports to the North American Public Safety Regional Development Team. This group designs, develops, customizes, and implements software interfaces and integrations on a product and project basis.

This role is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, delivery and support of software development tasks as part of the larger Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and/or Law Enforcement Records Management (RMS) deployment projects.

The right candidate should be based in Madison Alabama preferably.

Education / Qualifications

• Oversee the resource assignment, project budget and delivery timelines for the team and ensure alignment with the larger CAD and RMS deployments
• Provide routine progress updates on project deliverables to stakeholders
• Use project management tools to track progress, risks, budget, delivery timelines, support issues and resource assignments
• Coordinate tasks with dependent groups (such as implementation, global development organizations, cloud operations, etc.)
• Coordinate activities with partner vendors and other 3rd parties as appropriate

Software Engineering Project Manager Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Software Engineering or other related field or commensurate, documented experience in a role with similar responsibilities
• 5+ years’ experience in project management
• Knowledge of the Software Development Project Lifecycle (SDPL)
• Excellent communication, organization and critical thinking skills
• Ability to use tools such as: Confluence and Microsoft Office
• Experience using workflow automations to increase productivity
• Experience managing work in Microsoft Azure DevOps (certifications preferred)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud Services is a plus
• Prior Experience in public safety is a plus
• PMP Professional certification is a plus
