Overview

Sev1Tech is seeking a Junior Virtualization/Network Engineer to support the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic) Expeditionary Enterprise Systems and Services (E2S2) Division. NIWC Atlantic provides design, acquisition, and sustainment services for Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) Information Technology (IT) systems.

 

Other duties as assigned by management.



Responsibilities

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Active Top Secret Level Clearance
  • 6 months of experience as System Engineer
  • Windows Server OS Basics: Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows and/or Server
  • Basic Networking: IP addresses, DNS, and how network issues affect virtual desktops
  • Troubleshooting skills: use log files, event history, and version control to trace issues
  • Equipment installation including superb cable management

Available to Travel up to 60 days per year / several week-long trips



Qualifications



  • Individual shall be working toward the relevant certifications within one and a half year after assuming duties:
    • Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM)/ Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or with COR approval complete a vendor/platform specific certification:
    • Microsoft role-based certifications
    • Microsoft Certified Applicable Developer (MCAD)
    • Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA)
    • Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP)
    • CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
    • CISCO Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
    • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
    • VMWare Certified Professional (VCP)
    • Cloud certifications, etc.
