Function of Position:

The Project Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to the STEP Specialist and Director. This part-time role (10 hours per week) supports the implementation of STEP services and activities by assisting with purchasing, travel arrangements, documentation, communication, and data management. The Project Assistant contributes to the success of STEP programming at participating schools and the College.

*This is a temporary, grant funded position that may be renewed annually contingent upon availability of grant funding and performance reviews.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and distribute program communications, flyers, and materials
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, workshops, and field trips
  • Support data entry and tracking for student progress and reporting
  • Assist with onboarding documentation for STEP participants and interns
  • Provide general clerical support, including purchasing, photocopying, scanning, and filing
  • Help coordinate logistics for Saturday College and Summer Bridge programming
  • Support communication between STEP staff and partner schools
  • Assist with organizing parent/guardian workshops and events
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the STEP Specialist or Director
  • Assist with inventory and supply tracking
  • Support STEP staff during special events and programming
  • Help maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
  • Assisting with social media platform communications

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an educational or youth-serving environment
  • Familiarity with student data systems or CRM platforms
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently


Additional Information:

Hours/Salary: 10 hours per week/$22 hourly
