Community Leisure Learn Director
This position will serve as the Community Leisure Learn Program Director for the School of Education. This position will coordinate and manage multiple initiatives related to Health and Wellness in the School of Education.
The Community Leisure-Learn Program was initiated by the University of Pittsburgh over 50 years ago. Located in Trees Hall, it is the University’s oldest outreach program. It's main objective is to offer local residents the opportunity to improve their overall health and physical well-being. The Manager will serve as the community liaison for the Leisure Learn Program and will coordinate university and local community programming; will develop and implement programming initiatives for the Leisure Learn Program; will perform administrative duties associated with the program such as formulating budget and managing budgets for the programs with SOE Finance Team. Develop and maintain all social media platforms and postings in conjunction with SOE Marketing and Communications.
This position will hire, train, evaluate, and supervise graduate and undergraduate students and temporary employees within the program; attending program meetings as directed by funding agencies, and submitting reports as outlined by the agencies. Will manage and serve as a liaison for third party programs.
Facilitates multiple enrichment program initiatives with a focus on health and physical activity for the University and local community. Serves as a community liaison for regional and national programs and develops partnerships with the local community centers and University Community Engagement Centers. Manages contracts and vendors; performs budgetary functions.
• Develops, coordinates, and implements multiple enrichment program initiatives with a focus on health and physical activity for the University and local community. Collaborates with faculty and staff in other health and wellness initiatives on campus and in the community.
• Serves as a community liaison for the regional and national programs which serve the local community. Develops partnerships with the local community centers and University Community Engagement Centers.
• Serves as a staff member on university committees when needed.
• Attends trainings, maintains certification, develops procedures, trains staff, and manages contracts with University vendors.
• Performs administrative duties associated with the program; formulates and maintains all budgetary needs for the program.
Position involves office and computer work as well as engaging in active programming efforts. This includes traversing across campus as well as in the Trees Hall building. Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 lbs is required.
