McCarthy Building Companies is seeking a Field EI&C Technician responsible for advanced electrical, instrumentation and control system tasks. This technician operates with minimal supervision and is proficient in system integration, advanced troubleshooting, and quality control.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Independently lead installations, calibrations, or testing of complex instrumentation systems
  • Perform high-level diagnostics and root cause analysis of control and automation issues.
  • Ensure installations adhere to electrical codes, engineering specs, and QA/QC standards.
  • Perform onsite control panel investigations and modifications.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain controls for pumps, valves, and motors.
SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial automation systems, control wiring, and instrumentation.
  • Proven experience with VFDs and motor starters.
  • Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills.
  • Ability to perform installations that meet National Electrical Code requirements.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and support junior staff effectively.
  • Safely troubleshoot and modify 480 VAC control panels (starters, relays, timers, etc.)
  • Ability to read and completely understand control/PLC panel drawings.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of field experience in EI&C roles.
  • Proven experience with water/wastewater treatment systems.
  • Familiarity with control panels, SCADA systems, and PLC interfaces.
  • Technical certification or associate degree in instrumentation, automation, or a related field.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining pumps, motors, and valves
