Position Description: We invite applicants for a postdoctoral fellow position in the O'Connor lab at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, in the field of computational human genetics. Prospective postdoctoral researchers should hold a Ph.D. by the time they would begin their position. We are most interested in applicants who have experience in computational methods development, in human genetics or a different field.

Possible areas of research include:


1. Developing methods to compare the genetic architecture of rare vs. common genetic variation
2. Developing methods to analyze GWAS data using graphical models and genome-wide genealogies
3. Developing methods to integrate rare protein coding genetic association data with functional and machine learning-derived features
4. Developing methods to characterize the genetic architecture of autism

Salary and Benefits

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in areas such as computational human genetics or related fields
  • At least one peer-reviewed first-author publication
