Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Provides direct support to the Dean of the Graduate School and the Director of Faculty Services and Graduate Studies.
- Works with the Director of Faculty Services and Graduate Studies on academic probations/dismissals each semester including communicating with programs on student status, drafting and emailing letters to students regarding their academic status, and reporting status updates to the Registrar’s Office and the Financial Aid Office.
- Drafts and distributes graduate assistant letters each semester and receive signed letters in conjunction with the Director of Faculty Services and Graduate Studies.
- Solicits graduate assistant annual performance evaluations.
- Manages the centralized academic misconduct process for the Office of the Provost to include: receiving and processing all correspondence and documentation from students, faculty, department chairs, deans and academic integrity review panels; drafting and distributing documents/letters; managing review panels, academic holds; and ensuring compliance with policy.
- Reviews and approves student applications in the admissions system.
- Organizes the annual 3-Minute Thesis competition.
- Coordinates Graduate Council meetings, typically two a year.
- Manages graduate faculty appointment process.
- Answers phone calls and distributes mail received by the Graduate School.
- Manages post-doctoral hiring process.
- Updates the website and facilitates bulletin changes for the Graduate School.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
- Related duties as required.
