Position Overview:

The Accounting Manager leads the centralized Accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role supports the Controller in developing and implementing accounting systems, policies, and procedures that enhance risk management, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for all North American operating entities.
  • Prepare and communicate financial analyses to support strategic business decisions.
  • Analyze budget variances and escalate significant issues to senior leadership.
  • Coordinate the provision of financial data to external auditors.
  • Provide technical leadership on U.S. GAAP and IFRS matters, particularly around revenue recognition and complex transactions.

Accounting Operations & Internal Controls

  • Oversee accounting systems, transaction processes, and internal control frameworks.
  • Maintain and enhance systems to ensure data integrity and compliance with company procedures.
  • Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures that support operational efficiency.
  • Monitor compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Accounting team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and support professional development opportunities.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of Accounting staff.
  • Promote open communication, collaboration, and cross-functional teamwork.

Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Accounting function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support long-term planning and goal setting for the department.
  • Leverage team strengths and identify training opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
  • Make recommendations on process improvements, particularly in areas involving judgment, estimates, and risk management.
  • Align accounting practices with broader organizational strategy to support growth and scalability.

Expected Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive Accounting/Finance experience, including at least 1 year in a managerial role.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including lease accounting standards (ASC 842), and familiarity with IFRS.

  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

  • High level of integrity with the ability to handle confidential information.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive process improvements.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships across departments and influence without direct authority.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • User or administrator experience with Visual Lease.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master’s degree in a related discipline.

  • Experience with SAP and OneStream (Enterprise Finance Management systems).

Pre-Employment Requirement:

  • Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen and background check. This requirement is especially critical for safety-sensitive roles.

The annual base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $145,000. The actual pay will be determined based on factors such as location, experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
