CLASSIFICATION: Electronics Technician Maintenance II; CBA Rate $35.50/Hr

GRADE: Non-Exempt; Regular Full-time

LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL – On Site

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be a self-starter with good interpersonal and communications skills. May assist senior technicians or work independently to maintain and repair Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum monitoring equipment. Required to have a thorough knowledge of basic troubleshooting, repair, alignment and operation of electronic equipment. Should have a good knowledge of RF signals and basic RF measuring equipment. Experience with antenna systems (pedestals, servo drives, and antennas) helpful. Must be skilled in operation of spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and digital voltage meters. Computer experience with word processing and spreadsheet software, digital documents and drawings, and on-line parts research helpful. Previous experience with RADAR RF signals is desirable.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Receives work assignments from the supervisor.
  • Primary job function will be operation and maintenance of RF spectrum monitoring equipment and systems at the Eglin Range Control Complex #2 Room T111 and at Test Site A-6 to support Eglin AFB test missions and to locate RF interference signals.
  • Signals being monitored may come from military, commercial, or consumer sources.
  • Cross-training to operate mobile RF monitoring systems is likely.
  • Cross-training to operate other electronic equipment at other test sites is possible.
  • Additional site duties may be assigned such as vehicle maintenance, safety, security, housekeeping, drawings and documentation, and managing test and measurement equipment.
  • Candidates should support Eglin-Operations Maintenance Services (E-OMS) operational objectives and observe company Quality, Safety, Environmental and Security Administrative policies, and company improvement initiatives.


Job Requirements:

OTHER DUTIES: Other functions include assisting in the orientation and training of other technicians at this level when directed by the supervisor. Will perform general housekeeping and other job related tasks. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a technical or service school graduate in electronics with two years’ experience as an Electronic Technician.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: May perform work assignments in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment. Some tasks and assignments such as the installation; operation; and maintenance of mobile systems, aircraft systems, or range instrumentation will require work performance in outside environments in heat or cold with exposure to the conditions typical of various work locations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to climb, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, pull, or carry heavy items.
