The Pandrea lab is looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate with strong training in HIV/SIV pathogenesis. Incumbent will be expected to perform duties with a high degree of independence, initiative, and judgement. Incumbent will work directly with Dr. Pandrea and will conduct innovative research in the field of HIV/SIV with a focus on mucosal immunology and metabolic abnormalities related to retroviral infections.
Requirements:
PhD in Immunology, Pathology & Infectious Diseases
Established record of published research
Strong methodological background
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Demonstrated evidence of organizational skills and attention to detail, strong writing skills
Job Duties: Incumbent will play a significant intellectual, technical, and scientific role in our lab. They will:
Help design and conduct experimental research work within the HIV/SIV pathogenesis field
Maintain detailed documentation of the research experiments
Develop new ideas that promote current research areas in our lab and lead new projects
Present research at scientific meetings
Prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the direction of Dr. Pandrea
Assist with the preparation of grant applications
Responsible for the operation of specific equipment; trains research staff, undergraduate, and graduate students
