Shift
Monday-Friday (40 hrs/wk) Generally 7:30am-4:30pm; Occasional overtime as needed; Required to be in the on-call rotation, weeks vary depending on staffing.
Job Summary
The ITS Electronic Tech Assistant will be responsible for installing network cabling, installing and activating network equipment, and installation of both minor & major network cabling projects, as well as building and equipping communication closets. In addition, this position is responsible for testing and monitoring fiber/copper circuits for functionality including analyzing, diagnosing, coordinating, and repairing networking/data issues. Mastering all test tools at our disposal to diagnose & troubleshoot, as well as coordinating repair with all affected parties.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Communications skills; including on-line communications methods, basic cable installation, termination, and testing skills.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/Experience
AA and/or BICSI Apprentice Level Certification, previous related certification, or BICSI Apprentice Level Certification Perferred. A KY Drivers License is required.
