Title: Director of Admissions

General Summary: Under the general supervision of the Assistant Dean of Admissions, the Director of Admissions will assist with general office management and day to day operations of the department. The Director will play an innovative role in the implementation and maintenance of key admissions and recruitment technologies as well as the planning and implementation of admissions and recruitment strategies. As a member of the Admissions team, the Director will assist in recruiting and advising new MCC students as well as actively contributing to the growth, development and activities of the department that promote a commitment to access and student success for our diverse student body.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Assistant Dean of Admissions with planning, developing and implementing a recruitment plan that meets the needs of the community and the college.
  • Lead in the development of a Dual Enrollment recruitment plan, focusing on matriculation of DE students, and support development of special population recruitment plans
  • Assist the Dean of Admissions in the design, implementation, and assessment of admissions policies and procedures of selective health program and new open-door programs
  • Lead in the design, implementation, and assessment of admission policies and processes for prospective dual enrollment students and matriculation of current DE students
  • Assist in the development of electronic recruitment and admissions materials as it relates to the CRM Software with a specific focus on Dual Enrollment and selective health programs
  • Support Admission Staff on all selective review processes and procedures
  • Coordinate the onboarding and registration of new Dual Enrollment students in collaboration with the K-16 Partnership and Academic Advising offices
  • Through the lens of admissions and recruitment, collaborate with Enrollment Services to increase student retention rates through a variety of intervention strategies.
  • Oversee the coordination of major Dual Enrollment college-wide recruitment events including specialized campus tours and visit days, overview sessions, onsite registration events and Open House
  • Assist in the planning and development of recruitment marketing materials in collaboration with the staff of the Communications and Creative Service department and the Assistant Dean of Admission
  • In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Admission and CRM Specialist, assist with the maintenance and assessment of the college admissions and recruitment web site
  • Support Admission Staff in the coordination and execution of large-scale recruitment events such as Open Houses, On-Site Acceptance and Registration Days, Pathways Days, etc.
  • Admission Office representee on the Community Events Committee to support college-wide community outreach and recruitment opportunities
  • Oversee MCC student admission ambassadors
  • Lead communication liaison in Admissions Office for prospective dual enrollment students, families and high school and community partners
  • Member of the Banner User Group and Enrollment Working Group
  • Perform other related duties as required


Job Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Marketing or other related field

  • Minimum of 4 years of full time or equivalent experience as Assistant Director of Admissions or the equivalent in a community college and/or a 4-year public institution

  • Experience using a SIS and/or CRM to track and outreach students through recruitment and application stages

  • Experience in developing and managing both small-scale and large-scale events for general and special populations

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the institution and with outside partners such as high schools, community organizations, etc.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • A clear understanding of DEIB initiatives as relates to community college student populations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Salesforce/TargetX

  • Experience working with dual enrollment and homeschool populations

Location: Lowell campus with travel to Bedford

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, schedule to be determined upon hire. This position will be eligible for a maximum of one day of telework in accordance with the College's telework policy.
