The Indirect Tax Manager Role

An expanding tax department presents an opportunity for an Indirect Tax Manager. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Indirect Tax , Indirect Tax Manager will be jointly responsible as an individual contributor for overseeing the companys indirect tax processes, compliance and initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual to make a long-term impact within the organization.

What makes this role interesting?

• Oversee and assume ownership of the indirect tax processes and compliance for global indirect taxes (primarily value-added tax and goods & services tax with exposure to sales and use tax) including compliance with tax filing deadlines and tax calendar
• Support implementing the medium and long-term global indirect tax strategy and objectives
• Assist Senior Manager of Indirect Tax and VP of Tax in tax planning initiatives and special projects
• Provide analysis of specific indirect tax impacts of certain company transactions
• Coordinate and support indirect tax audit-responses
• Maintain technical proficiency by keeping informed of tax-technical developments, industry trends and indirect tax legislative changes including communicating those changes to key stakeholders and ensuring compliance
• Proactively identify, recommend, and implement process and tax systems improvements for indirect taxes, including automation opportunities
• Responsible for identifying and implementing indirect tax related (optimization) opportunities
• Responsible for supporting the implementation of the medium and long term global indirect tax strategy and objectives
• Working knowledge of Avalara and familiarity with ERP systems such as Netsuite
• Support the local Finance Business Partner and the accounting team in the Shared Services Center during audit procedures
• Taking responsibility and ownership of the relationship at appropriate levels inthe organization
• Manage relationships with external advisors

Were looking for a teammate with:

• 5+ years of global indirect tax experience (value-added tax and goods & services tax)
• Fluent understanding of indirect tax and compliance issues
• Working knowledge in the management of indirect tax audit processes
• Experience in tax control issues and process redesign to facilitate compliance with internal control requirements
• Advanced degree or professional certification in taxation is preferred
• Big Four experience preferred
• Experience with tax technology and ERP systems (e.g., Avalara, NetSuite).
• Experience in process improvement and automation initiatives within tax compliance.

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting preferred

Salary and Benefits: The anticipated base salary range for this role is$108,8960.00USD MIN $136,190.00.00MAX per year. Finalcompensationoffered by Qlik will be based on factors such as the candidates location, job-related skills, education, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
