SS Program Manager
The University of Pittsburgh is seeking an experienced, positive, and team-oriented candidate for the role of Program Manager for Advising Development, a member of the Student Success Team in the Office of the Provost. The mission of the Student Success Team is to “advocate and create opportunities for undergraduate students by providing a system of academic support to boost retention, persistence, and graduation. Through collaboration with colleges, schools, and campus partners, we intentionally coordinate purposeful programming and holistic advising interventions.”
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, the Program Manager will coordinate professional development, training opportunities, and resources for undergraduate advisors, mentors, and coaches by collaborating with Pitt colleges, schools, and campus partners. The Program Manager develops and implements best practices and shares information via media, communications, website updates, and newsletters.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Three (3) years’ experience in program or project management required. Experience in training programs, and/or academic support services a plus. Excellent organizational skills, oral, written, and interpersonal skills, participating in a team environment, giving presentations, and knowledge of MS tools and LMS (e.g., Canvas) is a plus. Previous experience with student success technology (e.g., EAB) is also a plus.
Performs all administrative and operational functions of a program. Coordinates all program events and personnel and provides services directly to customers. Develops and implements program policies and procedures. Performs budgetary functions and oversees media communications, website updates, and newsletters.
• Manages advising professional development programs, including the development, administration, planning, and coordinating of programs.
• Coordinates activities for the Office of the Provost Student Success Team.
• Provides services directly to advisors, mentors, and coaches across the University.
• Establishes uniform correspondence procedures and style practices. Oversees the creation of newsletters and updates to the website and other media to promote the program.
• Prepares reports.
• Other duties as required.
