Description

The Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine is seeking applications for a full-time tenure track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Department of Surgical Sciences and Community Care, Section of Periodontology. Responsibilities include teaching in the pre-doctoral program, as well as independent research and service to the University. Working in collaboration with other faculty, both in research and in teaching, is encouraged.

Qualifications

A D.M.D. or D.D.S degree and specialty training in Periodontics from a CODA accredited postgraduate program, or foreign equivalent, in periodontics and American Board of Periodontology eligibility or certification are required. Previous teaching experience and/or a record of research accomplishments through publication and external funding are desirable. Candidates holding an M.S. degree are preferred. Applicants must be licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Illinois, or be able to meet the requirements for Illinois licensure. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Intramural faculty practice is available.
