The School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice is accepting resume packages for part-time, non-tenure, semester term appointments for the 2025-2026 academic year. This listing does not represent an actual vacancy; rather open recruitment allows interested persons to submit materials for future vacancies with the School of Pharmacy. These non-tenure track faculty positions may be in the practice areas (depending on needs): patient communications; physical and patient assessment; inpatient/acute care; ambulatory patient care; community pharmacy; self-care; pharmacotherapeutics; health literacy and disparities; as well as clinical reasoning and shared decision making.
Needs for academic year 2025-2026 include: third (P3) year practice skills course series (Wednesdays, weekly during the semester) and occasional lectures and teaching assistance in other courses. Lecturers will prepare for and lead at least one section of the class as well as contribute to course coordination activities as part of the course instructor team.
In the Pharmacy School students learn the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of a practicing pharmacist in preparation for patient care practice. Faculty teach and conduct scholarly research on optimal instruction to prepare competent pharmacists for practice. In our work, we seek to model and promote ethical and equitable patient care as well as inclusive excellence. We are an educational community dedicated to the preparation of pharmacy professionals, scholars and leaders to improve the health and well-being of our region and beyond.

PharmD degree and eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Illinois is required for all faculty positions. Candidates should support our mission to serve patients in central and southern Illinois, especially those in underserved communities.
Experience in precepting or teaching students or residents is preferred.
