Job Description/Announcement *
STS International is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to work in Huntsville, AL to support the inspection, testing, repair and shipping of the following types of systems and technologies: Entry Control Point (ECP) equipment, Vehicle and Cargo Non- Intrusive Inspection Systems, Surveillance Systems and Physical Security Equipment.

There are no provisions for relocation. All candidates must be within the Huntsville, AL commuting area or be willing to relocate at his/her expense.

Position Roles and Responsibilities *
Focus will be on providing inspection, testing, repair and operational expertise of numerous complex security and inspection systems as they are in the process of shipping to locations worldwide.
Applies knowledge of information technology, software, electrical and/or communication systems.
Applies knowledge of a variety of the field?s concepts, practices, technologies, and procedures.
Provide comprehensive, life cycle logistical support to sustain operations and readiness of systems to include supply chain, acquisition, distribution, and transportation.
Assists with audits to verify inventory and minimize discrepancies/ duplication and prepares subsequent reports and documentation as assigned.
Pack, wrap and ship system parts in accordance with applicable standards.
Support the implementation of material shipment controls and inventory control (including GFE).
Responds to inquiries regarding shipment or inventory status in a timely manner.
Maintains databases, spreadsheets, reports and records for material control.
Perform physical inventories as needed.
Regularly interface with client leadership and end-users for daily operations, presentations, and status reports.
Verbal and written communications must be timely and of consistently high quality in content, style and clarity.
May perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum/General Experience *
Candidates must have at least 10 years experience in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and training users in or like equipment to include electrical, optical, mechanical, software, and video and wireless communication systems. 7 years if candidate possesses an Associate?s degree.
Experience should include a working knowledge of AC electric power, battery plants, and grounding standards.
Ability to repair and perform failure analysis on electronic controls and assembly.
Knowledge of computers (to include using Microsoft Office, the internet, and basic programming functions) is required, as is the ability to install programs, check start-up logs to determine where errors occur, and change out computer hard drives and power supplies.
Active DOD Secret Clearance


Possess a valid US driver?s license in good standing .
Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Ability to do physically demanding work including lifting and climbing in rigorous environments.
Technicians may work outdoors in all-weather environments.
Some travel may be necessary to support of equipment and/or system installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of systems or products.
