We are currently seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of heavy civil construction projects. This position plays a key role in helping Project Managers deliver complex DOTD and infrastructure projects that include site work, deep foundations, structural concrete, and concrete paving—on time, on budget, and with an uncompromising commitment to safety and quality.





Responsibilities:

  1. Estimating Support:
  2. Printing out project plans & documents and distribute to estimating.
  3. Review project information and submit review notes to the team.
  4. Compile list of needed PO/SUB pricing and manage correspondence to receive pricing by bid date.
  5. Project Preconstruction Support:
  6. Generate necessary submittals.
  7. Create and manage Purchase Orders & Subcontracts.
  8. Project Execution:
  9. Create RFIs & CORs
  10. Help manage documentation, contracts, change orders, RFIs, and project correspondence.
  11. Track Cost on projects: Labor, Equipment, Material, & Subcontractors.
  12. Track progress & quantities in accounting system.
  13. Approve Timecards
  14. Code & Approve Invoices.
  15. Software’s:
  16. Microsoft Office Suite
  17. Viewpoint
  18. PVault.


Requirements:

  1. Strong commitment to health and safety with a zero-tolerance mindset
  2. Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  3. Ability to collaborate effectively with field supervisors, subcontractors, and office staff
  4. Working knowledge of civil construction, especially in site work, concrete, and DOTD infrastructure projects
  5. Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  6. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  7. Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, project coordination, or a related role
  8. Familiarity with reading construction plans, specs, and schedules
  9. Willingness to learn and grow under the guidance of senior project management staff
  10. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills


Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  2. Previous experience assisting with DOTD projects


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The following environmental/atmospheric working conditions are commonly, but not always, a requirement of this position. The actual working conditions may vary.

  1. Work environment includes office machines, electronics and filing systems;
  2. Frequent lifting materials weighing up to 50 pounds;
  3. Constant sitting, typing and reaching for long periods of time;
  4. Must have good hand/eye coordination;
  5. Required to sit at a computer for several hours at a time.
