Dawson Construction has an immediate opening for a Civil Project Manager, working on projects based in Ketchikan, Alaska. Position Summary

Plans, directs and manages several commercial construction projects at a time. The Civil Project Manager is a take-charge leader who has a strong customer focus, a sense of urgency, a concern and respect for safety, and the desire to achieve quality in the final product.

Essential Functions

6. Accountable for client project delivery from pre-construction through commissioning focused on achieving high quality, site safety, and aggressive schedules
7. Facilitates building a collaborative team on each project – ability to work with a diverse group of trade contractors to build and lead a cohesive team that can successfully execute a project by meeting, or ultimately exceeding, schedule, budget and quality
8. Communicates effectively with clients, architects, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
9. Builds, meets and drives project schedules by incorporating industry leading techniques such as Lean Construction
10. Forecasts project cost and profitability
11. Reviews drawings and submittals
12. Ensures the correct materials are delivered to the project
13. Estimates, plans and schedules construction projects
14. Documents, negotiates and processes change orders
15. Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Minimum Requirements

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering and two to three years of field experience
