Physical Requirements
Must be able to climb and descend ladders, reach overhead and use various hand tools. * Must be able to work from ladders or lifts up to 30 feet * Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds * Must be able to work in tight places for extended periods of time * Must be able to distinguish wiring colors * Must be able to traverse campus while carrying or moving equipment in a reasonable amount of time. * Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Job Summary
ITS Electronic Technician Senior will:
  • independently lead the installation of network and communication infrastructure (Ethernet/fiber cabling, switches, WIFI appliances, and VOIP devices) in a professional manner
  • troubleshoot, resolve, and document voice and data service interruptions
  • be available for after-hours on-call rotation
  • display excellent communications skills (oral, written, and electronic) in all job facets
  • monitor project use of materials and time while ensuring that business guidelines are followed
  • train less experienced co-workers on job responsibilities

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Ethernet cabling experience, network test equipment experience, telephone system experience, problem solving skills, customer service skills, computer skills, and good communications skills. Must have the ability to work independently and should have an understanding of electronic circuits and network concepts, be able to utilize critical thinking to troubleshoot problems and exhibit an attention to detail. Must be organized and self-motivated.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/Experience
| Associate’s degree or technical skills and/or training experience and five to six years of related experience preferred. A valid Driver’s License required.
