The Center for Labor and a Just Economy (CLJE) is Harvard University’s center for research, teaching and creative problem solving related to the world of work and its implications for society. Located at Harvard Law School (HLS), CLJE brings together scholars, students, practitioners, community members and policy experts from a variety of disciplines. CLJE organizes projects and programs that (1) examine critical changes in labor markets, labor law, and the experiences of working people and (2) analyze the role of advocates, unions, worker organizations, business, and government in improving the quality of life for working families in the U.S. and around the world. The faculty, staff, fellows and research associates of CLJE include an array of nationally and internationally renowned scholars, experts, and intellectuals.
The Financial Manager will perform or manage the formal solicitation, negotiation, and financial administration of external support for program research, training, and public service projects funded by government and non-government sponsors and provide comprehensive pre-award and post-award grant administration. Provide consultation and recommendations for the use of financial resources to faculty and staff. They will also have responsibility to manage accounting activities such as reconciliations, analysis, and financial reporting.

Appointment End Date: This is a two-year term appointment with potential for renewal subject to funding and departmental need.

Work Format Details
This position is eligible for 100% remote work. Employees may work from any of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). At the discretion of the hiring department, fully remote employees may occasionally be required on-site at a Harvard location. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
