Description
Leidos is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer (Terraform) to join our AGUN migration team as a Team Lead. This position will be 100% remote with some associated travel.
PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The AGUN program is a highly demanding mission and requires expert technical and professional management to support the Army’s global wide area network and security infrastructure. You will be supporting a large and complex network migration and operations for the US Army. This role is remote and will include leadership of operations support staff and directing operational support activities for a global network.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
• Must currently possess an active DoD SECRET security clearance. (US Citizenship required)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Implement various development, test, automation tools, and IT infrastructure
- Define and set development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevSecOps operation.
- Demonstrate the technical skill to review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project.
- Troubleshoot techniques and fix the code bugs.
- Monitor the processes during the entire lifecycle for its adherence and update or create new processes for improvement and minimize inefficiencies.
- Review DevSecOps manual operations and automate processes wherever possible, include permission and configuration changes.
- Create and execute migration plan to evolve self-managed platform to immutable architecture with IaC workflows.
- Participate in incidence management and root cause analyses
- Coordinate and communicate within the team and customers.
- Select and deploy appropriate CI/CD tools.
- Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline).
- Develop strategy and integration methodology around design, development, and implementation of cloud-based solutions.
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for entire systems.
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies for hardware and software specifications.
- Utilize trends and metrics to identify opportunities for improvements within existing frameworks, tools, and processes.
- Responsible for systems functionality, performance, and configurations issues.
- Enable the quick development and release of changes and bug-fixes on an asrequired basis and incorporation of feedback from developers/users.
- Develop engineer and design briefs and documentation to support solutions be executed.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Master’s degree with 2+ years of prior relevant experience.
- 8570 IAT II certification (Security+ CE) or above.
- 3+ years of professional experience as a DevSecOps / System Engineer
- Extensive experience with cloud technologies and automation tools, with a strong focus on Terraform; also proficient with Ansible, Jenkins, and Okta.
- Extensive experience with the Linux operating system (RHCSA or RHCE level).
- Setup and configuration of DevSecOps services (Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, and other tools) in support of stakeholders.
- Documentation of frequently asked questions and create/update knowledge base articles for developers about use of DevSecOps services.
- Experience with monitoring tools like ScienceLogic, Turbot, Okta, and others.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to multi-task, complete tasks without direct supervision, and function effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work and communicate with and adapt to personnel at all levels and from technical disciplines (software developers, test engineers, system engineers, etc.).
- Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering, including requirements analysis and system architecture design.
- Experience working in and advocating for agile environments.
- Strong experience with containers (Docker, Compose, ECS, Kubernetes).
- Strong experience with various managed and self-hosted CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Travis, Drone, Mule, Spinnaker).
- Strong understanding of DNS, TCPDUMP, CDNS, SSL, Git, Firewalls, and networking concepts (VPC, subnetting, VPNs, etc.).
- Experience deploying microservice architecture, applications, and supporting services.
- Familiar with software security best practices.
- Understanding of monitoring tools in general (Palo Alto, Tenable, others).
- Ability to be cleared by the US Government via a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI).
Desired Experience:
- Experience work on Army projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Cloud-based application development or
- infrastructure sustainment.
- Cloud Technical, Business or TCO Accreditation.
- Cloud Architect, DevSecOps or SysOps Associate or Professional Certification.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
