Title: Director of Early College Initiatives

General Summary: The Director of Early College Initiatives is responsible for the support, development, implementation and assessment of innovative educational collaborations among the college's K-12 partners, community constituency groups, and individual learners seeking degree completion and/or academic opportunity, with the goal of promoting student achievement at all educational levels. Under the direction of the Dean of K-16 Partnerships, the director will promote student success through the design of systems, services, and strategies linking and aligning postsecondary education with current best practices in the field. Consistent with this goal, the director will facilitate initiatives that build collective capacity across academic disciplines and student services to provide high quality approaches to college readiness, degree attainment, and student success. The director is also responsible for the oversite and implementation of academic goals and initiatives related to all aspects of our concurrent enrollment partnerships, Early College designated high schools and the related grant parameters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Foster existing relationships with K-12 concurrent enrollment (CE) high school partners and develop new partnerships with public school districts that result in tangible and measurable outcomes
  • Coordinate frequent meetings with concurrent enrollment and Early College designated high schools
  • Assist with new Early College designation applications and re-designation processes
  • Participate in statewide convenings related to concurrent enrollment and MA Early College
  • Support collection of annual MOUs from partner high schools
  • Manage the concurrent enrollment registration process in collaboration with Enrollment Management to process student paperwork each semester
  • Coordinate with the Registrar's office to build concurrent enrollment schedule each semester
  • Communicate with CE instructors and high school administrators to ensure accurate registrations, final grades submission, approved high school instructors' completion of HR paperwork, course alignment and collection of CE syllabi
  • Coordinate K-16 vertical alignment curriculum, assessment, and professional development activities
  • Assist partner high schools with course selection for concurrent enrollment alignment
  • Collect course and instructor proposals from high schools and submit to department chairs and deans for vetting and approval process
  • Maintain concurrent enrollment programming in alignment with NACEP Accreditation standards
  • Manage MCC faculty liaison onboarding based on discipline specific needs
  • Assist with annual MCC faculty liaison convening to review responsibilities and best practices
  • Support communication between MCC faculty liaisons and approved high school instructors
  • Facilitate annual new concurrent enrollment instructor orientation
  • Support the dean in the management of the K-12 Linkages portion of the college's Perkins grant including budgeting, programming, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Admissions & Recruitment, Advising and Enrollment Management in the creation and expansion of dual enrollment, concurrent enrollment & early college processes and continuously improve internal communication systems for information related to high school and transfer pathways
  • Manage and maintain records and reporting for state grants such as Early College, Commonwealth Dual Enrollment Program (CDEP), etc.
  • Communicate with Student Accounts to ensure accurate student billing for CE partners, draft invoices for high schools, and manage grant-funded students
  • Collaborate with Admissions & Recruitment, Advising and Enrollment Management to design
  • Collaborate with Deans and Department Chairs
  • Promote and maintains collaborative relationships with faculty and staff
  • Participate in state and national organizations to keep current on trends and practices
  • Supervise full-time and part-time staff within the department, collaborating with the Dean and human resources on personnel matters and staffing concerns when needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements:
  • Master's Degree and at least 3-years community college experience
  • Experience with grant management, grant reporting, budgetary development, management, and implementation
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external constituency groups

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership, administration of community-based programs
  • Leadership, administration of programs for K-12 students
  • Bilingual skills a plus


Additional Information:
