Oversees university-wide budgetary and financial planning processes and leads team. Monitors the University’s finances continuously and crafts complex reports and analyses. Prepares and reconciles budgets, allocates funds, and oversees the budget modification process and audit scheduling. Reviews proposals, resolves inquiries, provides feedback, and maintains records. Aids in revising and ensures adherence to policies and procedures and regulations.
Pitt Finance & Operations is seeking a Manager, Budget Operations to support the Department of Budget & Planning. Reporting to the Director, Budget Operations, the incumbent will assist with building, planning, and managing the University-wide budget. Duties associated with this role include, but are not limited to:
*Oversees year-long university-wide budgetary and financial planning processes and leads team. *Aids in budget development and management procedures. *Prepares, monitors, and reconciles budgets; analyzes and reviews financial information to support the budgeting process; allocates funds and oversees the budget modification process. *Monitors and evaluates the University’s finances continuously. *Works to identify improvement areas and makes thoughtful recommendations for revisions. *Crafts complex internal and external reports with relevant financial information and analyses. *Shares reports with University executives and provides feedback with an aim to enhance departmental processes. *Serves as liaison between internal and external stakeholders regarding budgetary matters and issues; assists departments and related personnel with understanding strategic goals and identifying operational improvements. *Reviews financial and budgetary proposals, provides feedback to preparer and senior management, and responds to finance-related inquiries in a timely manner. *Maintains detailed departmental records and files. Monitors financial reports and records for accuracy. *Helps to determine and revise policies and procedures surrounding finances. Ensures the accuracy and quality of all departmental practices. *Manages implementation and maintenance of budget-related financial systems. *Supervises staff, which includes hiring, performance reviews, and documenting disciplinary actions and other human resource administration; manages work schedules and approves timecards; provides professional development opportunities; distributes and reviews work. *Performs other special projects as needed.
Incumbent must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time, use the computer, and travel around campus for meetings.
