We are presently seeking an Aviation Mechanic. Assignments include a wide range of detailed tasks which comprise a sophisticated, structured Aviation maintenance program. These tasks include, but are not limited to the following: actual hands-on maintenance; aircraft inspection; trend monitoring; forms and records tracking; and maintaining a technical publications library. The mechanic is the cornerstone for sustaining an acceptable operational readiness level.
Required?you ?gotta have it:
Local National (LN).
Must have a valid FAA-issued Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
Must have ten (10) years documented Aviation maintenance experience, with at
Five (5) years? experience in maintaining fixed-wing aircraft.
Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. Federal Aviation Administration regulations, including, but not limited to FAR part 1, 43, 61, 63, 67, 91, and 830.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Outlook for communicating via e-mail.
Demonstrated ability to utilize web-based aircraft/engine maintenance management systems as well as access OEM, FAA and aircraft-related information via the internet.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret regulatory and maintenance documents in English.
English language proficiency to the 2/2 level is required.
Spanish language proficiency to the 2/2 level is required.
Must be willing to travel in-country to remote locations and out of country when required. Incumbent must be able to independently perform the fieldwork in remote areas for extended periods without on-the-ground-supervision.
Must be able to lift 40 pounds (18 kgs) to shoulder height. Must be able to climb maintenance stands and ladders.
Must be able to work in Peru legally or obtain the required work permit.
Possession of Inspection Authorization and /or Federal Communication Commission (FCC) General Radiotelephone Operator license (GROL). PREFERRED
Three (3) years of experience directly maintaining Beechcraft 1900 model or similar aircraft. PREFERRED
Responsibilities?what your days will look like:
Perform all scheduled maintenance inspections in accordance with the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) requirement on all aircraft systems including the airframe, electrical, power plant/propeller and related systems while conforming to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) part 91 operating requirements.
Perform all unscheduled maintenance on all aircraft systems including the airframe, electrical, power plant/propeller as required to maintain the aircraft in an airworthy condition in accordance with OEM and FAA specifications.
Tow the aircraft as required to perform maintenance or prepare for a mission.
Perform all quality-control inspector duties as required.
Maintain proper documentation of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, compliance with Airworthiness Directives (AD) and trend monitoring.
Maintain hazardous material control (HAZMAT), Foreign Object Damage (FOD) control, and tool control programs and procedures in accordance with established Aviation safety standards.
Maintain the technical publication library.
Ensure the availability of required aircraft rotable parts and bench stock in accordance with established Department of State (DOS) procurement procedures and local importation and customs requirements.
Maintain an on-hand parts inventory and order replacements and time-change components as required to meet operational requirements.
Maintain organization and calibration of all special tools, and maintenance of all ground support Equipment.
Perform receiving inspections on all procured items entering the INL Beech 1900D supply inventory. Inspect all outgoing aircraft parts for proper service classification and tagging.
Ensure all Time before Overhaul (TBO) components are tracked properly.
Immediately notify appropriate INL Aviation Advisors of the aircraft maintenance status should a change occur.
Track all flight times, inspection times, overhaul hours, and airframe and engine cycles utilizing an INL-approved program. Assist in developing or acquiring this program if required.
Draft the INL Peru B1900D weekly usage report for dissemination within INL and the DoS Office of Aviation.
