Maintenance Technician (TMIT)

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for second echelon maintenance on the Humanoid, Engageable, Kinetic, Training, Robot, (HEKTR) and trailer support platforms. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician provides second echelon maintenance of TMIT equipment and receives direct support from the program lead technician. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for overall configuration management and maintenance of the TMIT system on site and assists the ISSO with configuration and implementation requirements as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide technical support TMIT supported training events.
  • Plan, prepare, and configure system equipment in advance of training execution.
  • Conducts second echelon repairs of mechanical, electronic, and optical equipment according to applicable documentation (parts list, drawing, wiring diagram, operation instruction, control instructions) within set turnaround timeframes.
  • Maintains accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, logs, and documentation.
  • Loads and configures software according to the applicable in-service structure within Team Corps Solutions TMIT provisions.
  • Tests equipment, pre and post repair, according to applicable control instructions.
  • Ensures that all documentation related to the repairs, upgrades or configuration changes is up to date.
  • Performs upgrades to TMIT fielded equipment and trailers as required.
  • Instructs and educates site personnel on repair techniques and maintenance when required.
  • Performs exercise support when required.
  • Engages and informs the Site Lead with any technical requirements, status, and any technical issues that require a higher echelon of maintenance.
  • Prepares necessary Export / Import documentation for updating systems or downloading AAR data.
  • Establishes and sustains a safe and secure working environment; adheres to safety standards and requirements when working on systems.
  • Responsible for pre-ops checks of vehicles / trailers and pre-ops checks and first echelon maintenance of HEKTRs, and set-up of equipment on training ranges.
  • Responsible for breakdown, storage, and accountability of all equipment, charging of all batteries, survey of equipment for damage or expendable parts wear, and ordering of parts for routine maintenance.
  • Assist the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) with Install, operate, maintain, and troubleshooting support.
  • Assist the ISSO with basic IT oversight, direction, and guidance in support of attaining and maintaining an ATO through the RMF process.
  • Assist the ISSO with run and review vulnerability and compliance scans on all networks and services using current DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), or other approved solution(s) as required.
  • Assist the ISSO with maintaining A&A related documentation (i.e., site inventory, software baseline, equipment lists, ports, protocols, and services management (PPSM), self-assessment / test plans, etc.), POA&Ms, security plan, vulnerability scans, Security Assessment Report (SAR), contingency plans, information assurance vulnerability management plans, cybersecurity waiver requests, cybersecurity waiver extension requests, and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) related reporting requirements within Marine Corps Certification and Accreditation Support Tool (MCCAST).
EDUCATION
  • High school diploma.
  • At least three years of experience in cybersecurity.
  • Well versed in USMC and DoD cyber security compliancy, instructions, policies, and regulations.
EXPERIENCE
  • Knowledge in trouble shooting of mechanical, electronic, and optical equipment.
  • Knowledge of fault finding and testing cables.
  • Knowledge in testing units and loading software.
  • Knowledge of production documentation, configuration documents and control instructions.
  • Knowledge of design structures and documents, reporting.
  • Understanding of written work-related documents / schematics, illustrated parts breakdowns.
  • Simulator / wheeled / tracked robot experience preferred.
  • Knowledge in trouble shooting and repair of mechanical, electronic, and optical equipment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Documented experience and solid understanding of DoD enterprise network policies with a strong security mindset.
  • Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
  • Prolonged outdoor exposure to the elements. Work in inclement temperatures from 100+ degrees in a low elevation desert climate to negative 25 degrees in a high elevation (6,500 – 10,000 feet) mountainous environment.
  • Routine heavy lifting (50 lbs. maximum).
  • Daily driving in the training areas with poor driving conditions due to rugged terrain, weather, and range debris.
  • Must be able to drive a ¾ ton truck with 25 ft trailer.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
  • Valid U.S. Passport
  • Occasional travel CONUS and OCONUS may be required.
  • Able to obtain a CAC Card.
  • Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company's auto insurance provider.
